Mellow Yellow: A Bannan House Farm Editorial
When you think of a perfect summer day, what comes to mind? Perhaps it's the vision of white linens air drying in the sunshine, the taste of a refreshing glass of ice-cold lemonade, or the sight of daisies blooming in a field of lush green grass. This idyllic imagery served as the inspiration for our latest editorial project at Bannan House Farm.
The Vision
The goal for this styled shoot was to evoke a sense of lightness, airiness, and freshness. We aimed to capture the serene beauty of a sunny day, where everything feels crisp, clean, and full of life. The palette consists of warm and soft yellows, cream tones, and touches of natural greenery, perfectly reflecting the warmth of the sun and the natural beauty of the venue.
Invitations
Each invitation is letterpress printed, creating a tactile quality June Press stationery is known for.
The main invitations are crafted from handmade plantable seed paper, a nod to the beautiful plants growing everywhere at Bannan House Farm. This eco-friendly choice not only adds a unique texture but also allows guests to plant the paper and watch wildflowers grow, making the invitation a keepsake that gives back to nature.
The details card and envelope are crafted from handmade paper in a lightly toasted wheat color. This subtle contrast to the invitation adds warmth and softness to the overall palette, and everything is embellished with luxuriously soft hand-dyed silk ribbon. The delicate ribbons add a touch of elegance and movement, and creamy white wax seals secured it around each set.
To capture the essence of the event theme, we used floral-printed vellum envelope liners. Unlike traditional opaque paper, vellum softens the colors and creates a subdued, ethereal effect, similar to the layers of tulle in a bride's veil.
Day-Of Paperie
Each menu card is letterpress printed on handmade paper, and to add a personal touch, a layer of ribbon and a translucent vellum name card were attached to each menu with a small metal embellishment. This combination of textures and materials creates a sophisticated yet whimsical look, perfectly in tune with the overall aesthetic.
The entire shoot felt like stepping into a dream. The bright sunshine filtering through the florals on the tables and illuminating the mountain view, the soft breeze, and the vibrant yet gentle colors all came together. As we reflect on this styled shoot, we're reminded of the simple joys of a perfect summer day. The lightness, the freshness, and the undeniable beauty of nature served as the perfect inspiration for this project.
